Number of foreign tourists visiting Antalya rises

Read more...The number of German tourists visiting the southern resort province of Antalya has risen by five percent when compared to last year while the number of Russian tourists visiting this province rose by 20 percent when compared to 2007.  According to date obtained from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, tourists from 70 countries arrived in Antalya with direct flights from their countries.

Minister unveils (real) Santa statue
Read more...The third Saint Nicholas statue built in the last decade was inaugurated in the resort town of Demre yesterday by the culture minister who said the first two were not right. All three statues of Saint Nicholas were placed in the town square of Demre, where the original Saint Nicholas is believed to have lived in the third century BC. He was the bishop of Myra, which later became Demre.

Read more...The Christmas ritual was held while Muslims were performing Friday prayers in Antalya’s Faith Garden, the place where there are shrines for three separate religions.  Led by Rainer Korten, the Christmas ritual attracted foreign tourists in Antalya, Alanya and Belek as well as the expatriates and Turkish Christians in the region.

Crisis hits football tourism in Antalya
