Turkish tour operators buoyed by high demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr |

 Tour operators in Turkey are pleased about the high demand for tours only a few days before this year's Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. The current interest in tours is even higher than predicted. The tour operators had feared that they would not profit much since this year's Eid coincides with the end of the summer holiday.

 While the golf season in Turkey starts in early September, activities carried out by the Turkish Golf Federation continue year-round. However, even though Turkey was selected as the top golf destination in Europe by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators in 2008, the number of people playing golf in the country is low, which is partially due to discrimination against golf in Turkey, according to Turkish Golf Federation President Ali Ahmet Ağaoğlu.
